Process service is an essential part of our justice system. We are continuing to provide process service for our clients and have implemented the following policies to minimize the potential spread of Covid-19. Our servers attest to the below and abide by the guidelines implemented while serving documents for our clients.
Process servers will be symptom free and has not tested positive for COVID 19 or come into contact with someone who is symptomatic or has tested positive for COVID 19.
If the process server does experience symptoms or tests positive for COVID 19, they will notify The Chase Agency LLC immediately and will not continue service efforts until symptom free for at least fourteen (14) days.
Process servers agree to wear a mask or face covering and wear disposable gloves or utilize hand sanitizer while handling documents or making service efforts.
Process servers must adhere to social distancing and maintain a distance of at least six (6) feet apart from others while making service efforts.
Process servers will knock (or ring buzzer), then retreat a minimum of six (6) feet from the doorway. If six feet is not possible (such as in an apartment complex), process servers will retreat the maximum distance possible under the circumstances.
If an individual is identified as able to receive the documents but does not wish to accept them in hand, process servers will place the documents on the ground, identifying them as legal documents.
Process servers will then retreat at least six feet away and allow the subject to retrieve the documents. Process Servers will remain present until they can visually confirm the documents have been retrieved or recognized.
Process servers must adhere to CDC guidelines and state safety mandates while handling service documents and making service efforts.
